Wilton Class 2

Today, I had my Wilton Cake class two...

My homework assignment from last class was to:
1) Make a batch of frosting
2) Make the different consistencies.
3) Have my frosting prepared for decorating... meaning colors made...

If I have totally lost you... not to worry, I lost myself...

Since I was feeling under the weather... I guess my cake turned out okay...

I love my instructor because when I have a question she emails back or calls as soon as possible...

Well... even though I did not feel 100% at least I was prepared... I need to work on a lot of things... so I decided I will do one hour of practicing at least three times a week.

Below are a few photos of my cake... I wanted to use all my frosting (that was in the bag) and not throw it away so I OVER decorated towards the end...

Its Saturday!

SO,I have been a little under the weather the last few days but sometimes there are things you have to do...

I received a customer contact from my CM Website and even though I normally drag to contact people because of my fear of rejection, I called the young lady back within 24 hours... I met with her on Friday night... planned to be in/out and back home in bed in an hour.... I was WRONG... we ended up talking about more than scrapbooking and 3 hours later I went home...

This morning, my plan was to walk from my house to Saturday Market, walk around and then back home. Since I was so stuffed up, we rode down and walked around and then came back home...

When I got home I baked my cake for class #2 that is tomorrow. It looks a little flat, but its okay... it is just for practice and I know the guys will eat it... tomorrow, we decorate... looking forward to it!

My First Cake Decorating Class

May 4, 2008 was my first class of four in Wilton Cake Decorating.

Let me do things the "Kieta" way...
Information about class:
Location: JoAnns~Anchorage, AK
Time: 1-3pm
Length: 4 Weeks
Instructor: THE AWESOME, Miss Judy S.
Okay... so most who know me... know that on email, internet, IM and etc... I can be a CHATTER BOX! But when I am in a new enviroment I can be such a CLAM... (LOL)
Well, having someone you know as an instructor is WONDERFUL... I felt a little at ease... NOW to get to know the rest of my classmates...

BACK TO THE CLASS... Well... class 1 is a lecture but it went by so FAST... not like the military ones... so... Judy demonstrated how to make Buttercream Frosting and how to ice the cake... I loved the fact that she took her time and explained the differences of consinstency of the frosting...

For next week, we have to bring in a cake already iced. I will post pictures... I just do not know what kind of cake I want to make... something simple or torted... I have decided that I will make the rainbow cake that is in the book...

Thanks for reading!
